Do the Business

Never be concerned to upgrade engineering

For numerous little enterprise proprietors like me, the very last two years have been full of hurdles — from navigating the COVID-19 pandemic to decrease demand for the goods and expert services we work so challenging to provide.

And to include to the financial hardship, one particular 12 months ago my enterprise nearly missing all the things.

On Dec.12, 2020, the North Region-based bakery and headquarters of my pretzel business enterprise burned down in a fireplace. Martin’s Handmade Pretzels has been in my spouse and children for 4 generations, and when I woke up to see flames encompassing the building, I feared for what this would imply for our long run.

I am very pleased to say that just a person year afterwards, my pretzel small business is not only again, but thriving. We carry on to promote pretzels nationwide and throughout New York — from farmer’s markets in Syracuse, Watertown, and Previous Forge to New York City Greenmarkets. We also not too long ago reopened our new bakery — in Moira, northern Franklin County — to the community.

There are two causes why my tiny organization was in a position to rebound even though several some others all-around me have not been as blessed: the aid of my group and my willingness to embrace ground breaking engineering.

Initial and foremost, for small businesses like mine, a base of loyal customers is important. Since we do not have the assets of larger sized businesses, we predominantly rely on term of mouth and social media to entice new shoppers. We are also fortunate to have trustworthy prospects who have been taking in Martin’s Handmade Pretzels for a long time and are exceptionally supportive.
